5 tier center column cake

This cake featured garland & hearts accented with red drop drop flower & leaves. Tulle was used as viel backdrop. Fresh flowers between layers (we used more greens than flowers to keep costs down). In this particular cake you need to cut a core out for stand insertion, paying particular attention to centering. This seperator stand is an absolute mess! I hate it...lol...it doesnt transport well and is poorly designed!! ok nuf said...lol Posted by Hello

EVERYBODY STARTS SOMEWHERE...ONE OF MY FIRST SALES
Ok U know when u first start out u hit your friends and family first! A friend had ordered a birthday cake with an easter theme...of course she had never SEEN any of my work. I had made the kids another cake which they decorated....and I just couldn't resist!!! I presented her with THIER cake..lol...the look on her face was absolutely PRICELESS!!! I can still hear her sigh of relief when I presented her with the cake on the right...it makes me giggle even now! lol This cake is just a bunch of stars, easy to do but time consuming! :)

A DREAM COME TRUE
A cake fit for a princess! This Castle cake in a single layer, petal shaped tier structure is fit for any princess! Adding interest is the pink top accented by white icing sides. Drop flowers w/ leaves are used in the puff border (flowers & leaves are made in royal icing). The top is constructed out of cake dowels topped with ice cream cones layered in pink icing with edible glitter. Glitter was added to all the cake tiers. Constructed on an oversize board wide enough for the princess' carriage! And we can't forget prince charming and cinderella!

NO HEAD...U guys like that!!!
This cake is a form of figure piping... no really, it is called figure piping...lol...some doll dress forms do nicely, build up your icing base where it's needed, then u use a food quality paint brush to get the right curves! :)

This is THE DOG!!
Any resemblences are purely coincidental! To ensure the dog was proportioned correctly, my own dog was measured. Everything I have ever made pales in comparison to this one....and it was definitely one of the most fun to construct! Pound cake is the best for sculptured cakes. His tail is a straw covered in icing. A special stand was built and covered in icing. I dont remember how many hours went into this one...but it was well worth it to see the look on my daughters face! (you didnt think I was crazy enough to do this for a customer did u? lol)

BIKINI BABE

Gina this is it! This cake was derived from the song "yellow polka dot bikini" :) I probably should have called the customer afterwards to make sure he didnt have a friggin heart attack!! :) notice the attention to detail...lol...she has been updated and now sports a belly button ring!! Now..I ask you...what man wouldn't want this woman? She has no head! (therefore no mouth..lol)...j/k Posted by Hello

THE BEACH BUM

Ok this is what our buddy Tony is doing right NOW!! Sipping marguaritas under the palm trees! Another example of what can be done in figure piping (Roland Winbeckler has excellant books on this techinque). A reverse scroll border...and some grahm craker crumbs for sand...I sometimes use a colored edible glitter...depends on the effect you are looking for...  Posted by Hello

It's the GREAT pumpkin....charlie brown!!

This little pumpkin had more than meets the eye...tubing was inserted up thru the pumpkin into his eye, a siphon ball was incorporated and the end of the tubing was inserted into thier punchbowl...hmmm u guessed it ...anyone who dared to look at this little devil wore the punch!! Shot very nicely out of his eye...I was defintely PLEASED with the results of this endeavor! I painted candies in orange and milk choclate, the words were also choclates. Now ...look at the cupcakes...I made an effort not to make the faces scary or ugly...BUT I was running out of time, so I enlisted the help of my husband (orders were given that the faces were not to b scary because of children!) Notice the faces get wierder and scarier...hmmm who knew u could mess up a cupcake?  Posted by Hello

This Takes the Cake

This cake features ruffle garland with drop strings and small drop flowers. The use of multiple tiers and the octagon shapes add interest. The design of this cake actually served more people than needed. I added a dummy to keep costs down....can you tell which one it is? I thought not...lol
